Private Online Ceramic Tuition via Zoom

These lessons are ideal if you cannot travel to the studio but would still like direct, personal guidance. Online sessions are tailored to your needs and can be used for practical demonstrations, project feedback, troubleshooting, glazing advice, or planning a body of work.

Best for

Students working from home, in their own studio, or in a shared studio space. All levels welcome including beginners .

What we can cover

The lesson can be shaped around your own interests, experience, and creative goals. These are just some of the things we can cover:

  • Botanical, floral, or sculptural pieces in a clay of your choice, including porcelain

  • Sculptural hand-building techniques

  • Functional ware, tiles, wall pieces, and freestanding pieces

  • Sculptural animals, marine life, anatomy, or nature-inspired forms

  • Project planning and developing an idea from start to finish

  • Glaze and surface advice

  • Clay choice and material guidance

  • Kiln and firing questions

  • Troubleshooting technical problems

  • Reviewing work in progress

  • Developing your creative direction

Before the lesson

Before your session, I will send you a short questionnaire so I can understand how best to support you. This helps me learn more about your experience, your studio or home setup, your tools, your access to a kiln, the clay you use, and the temperatures or cones you fire to.

I can also advise you on any materials, tools, or preparation you may need before the lesson. This allows me to tailor the session closely to your needs, your project, and what you would like to achieve.

How it works

The lesson takes place on Zoom. I can demonstrate techniques live, and you can show me your work, tools, clay, glaze tests, or any technical issues you are having.

If you are in a shared studio, you can wear headphones and type questions if needed. You are also welcome to send photos before the lesson, so I can prepare more focused advice.

After the lesson

After the session, I will send you notes to help you remember what we covered, along with any additional information, links, or suggestions that may be useful for your project.

You are also welcome to contact me afterwards if you have any follow-up questions or need a little extra guidance.
